  'Free' parking with menaces - be warned little white signs on lamp posts indicate the ability for private companies to issue fines for not parking properly here. It's not something we are used to in this country but apparently it is spreading like a rash across South Belfast. I parked on the end of a row where space existed (but was not marked out) and they want £100 from me - I have read that it's not enforceable elsewhere - not sure how true this is.

  Be aware they have contracted the parking area to UKPC. Got £90 fine on Sat eve at 17:54 two weeks before Christmas 2012: my car was parked outside lines [because there was no room] but without obstructing other cars.
  They were right technically but, as I am parking in the Boucher Crescent Retail Park to spend my money in their shops, I am right too on choosing not to go shopping there till UKPC is around.
